Ken Mansell – Ballads, Ballots and Bureaucratic Balderdash – How I Coped With Conscription

Ken Mansell digs deep into his own personal archive of prolific song lyrics written in 1964-65 when faced with the prospect of being conscripted for Vietnam. The songs evoke a young man’s emotional turmoil and radicalisation as he wrestles with the existential question of whether to submit to the draft or resist.
